Over the years, my journey led me through various middle and high schools, serving as both an English Language Arts (ELA) and English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher. I also had the privilege of working in language schools and universities across Germany, The Netherlands, and Greece. After a lifetime of traversing countries, I made the bold decision to settle in Greece and pursue my dream of establishing my own online language learning company: English Education Lab. The initial four years were marked by relentless dedication and perseverance, as I poured my heart and soul into building my company from the ground up. I proudly imparted English language lessons to students worldwide, spanning both children and adults. During this time, my husband Brian joined the endeavor, assuming the role of EEL's chief editor. He now offers invaluable independent writing, editing, proofreading, and consulting services, supporting teachers and other partners in refining their content. Together, our combined efforts ushered in a new, exhilarating chapter for English Education Lab.
Together we followed our hearts and passion and began creating educational content on relevant, impactful topics for ELA/ESL teachers, students and anyone who valued critical thinking, writing and communication skills in and out of the classroom. Our joint goal was, and is, to help teachers encourage their students to open their minds and hearts, while voicing their opinions in a safe and supportive environment, on topics that truly matter to them. Both Brian and I are passionate proponents of bringing topics that are often relegated to the shadows, to the forefront- where they belong.
We put an immense amount of love and passion into our work and hope that this translates into the material we create. Being able to give birth to inspirational and educational resources that not only cover teachers' and students needs but also inspires students to push themselves further and to discover the beauty and power of language- is what drives our creative spirits.
Besides being passionate about our work, both Brian and I are serious animal lovers and spend most of their free time with our menagerie of adopted pets! Wherever we may be, there will always be a cat, dog, or cup of coffee nearby- and we really wouldn't have it any other way!
